  • Trauma can be a very scary experience for both children and adults. As a parent, it can be challenging to know how to support a child who has experienced trauma. That's where we come in. Our team specializes in trauma-based treatment for children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 years old. We use an evidence-based treatment model called Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which has been well-researched and shown to be highly effective in over 80% of children who have been exposed to a traumatic event.

TF-CBT is effective in treating children who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as those who may not meet this diagnosis but have experienced or witnessed a traumatic incident. Trauma can manifest differently for each child or teen, and together we'll explore if TF-CBT is the right treatment model for your child and what it entails.

We also provide trauma-based treatment for adults who have experienced a traumatic event or traumatic grief.

We offer Brainspotting and EMDR as two types of trauma therapy treatment for children and adults. Both are highly effective and we would love to talk with you more about these types of therapy and if they would be a good fit for you or your child. We're here to support and assist you in the healing process.

You don’t need to tackle it all alone.

  • Children often respond best to therapy when they are given the opportunity to express themselves through play, art, puppets, or games. This type of therapy, known as play therapy, can help children overcome emotional challenges and guide them towards growth and development. It is typically used for children between the ages of 3 and 11 and can help them express their thoughts, feelings, and needs, while gaining social skills and problem-solving abilities. Parental involvement is encouraged and plays an important role in a child's progress in therapy.

  • Talk therapy, games, workbooks, sand tray therapy, art, and music are all effective ways to help teenagers. These methods help them process their hopes, dreams, conflicts with peers, school stressors, and family issues. Additionally, by developing a strong connection with their therapist, most teenagers can benefit from therapy and feel understood. A positive therapist-teenager relationship plays an important role in the success of individual and family therapy with teens.
